The Science and Politics of I.Q.
Kamin, Leon J
I had to read this for grad school....in all honesty, I only had to read the first two chapters, but it was fascinating.
The history of testing in America is one of dishonesty and unscientific measures. Standardized tests since their creation have been used to segregate and promote racist agendas. All tests have significant biases and often these preferences are ignored to the detriment of those who are minorities of that time period. Tests are also used to measure things that they were not created to measure. It's scary.
